Vintage Navajo Squash Blossom with Morenci Turquoise

$3,800.00

This classic vintage Navajo Squash Blossom necklace features genuine Morenci turquoise set in sterling silver. It’s a beautiful example of traditional Southwestern Native American jewelry, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The squash blossoms elements are framed in a decorative silver setting with twisted wire and rope detailing, holding an oval or teardrop-shaped Morenci turquoise cabochon. Morenci turquoise, with the typical dark spiderweb or matrix patterning common to this Arizona mine, is highly prized for its vibrant color and bold matrix.

The large central naja pendant is heavily set with multiple turquoise stones. It’s adorned with the same silverwork… twisted wire, beads, and drops creating a dramatic focal point typical of Navajo squash blossom necklaces. The necklace uses sterling silver throughout, with hand-stamped, repoussé, and wire-wrapped details. It is in excellent vintage condition with a nice patina. The piece has a substantial, heirloom-quality feel, substantial enough to be a statement piece while remaining wearable. This is a high-quality example with desirable Morenci turquoise, which collectors and enthusiasts particularly value for its color and history. It would make a stunning piece for both wearing and display.
