This beautiful vintage Navajo Squash Blossom necklace featuring Bisbee turquoise has a single-strand necklace with larger sterling silver Navajo pearls. It features 10 squash blossom elements that are simpler and more delicate compared to more ornate examples. Each blossom consists of a single turquoise cabochon with a dangling silver “blossom” or petal-like drop below it.
Bisbee turquoise, known for its intense, vibrant robin’s-egg to deep blue color is from Arizona’s historic Bisbee copper mine and is highly prized for its rich hue and often shows characteristic dark matrix or veining. The central naja is a clean, elegant horseshoe/crescent shape with twisted silver wirebordering and is set with 5 turquoise stones ,a more traditional, streamlined naja design.
Sterling silver throughout with nice handcrafted details like the twisted wire, bead accents, and the hanging elements on the blossoms. The piece has a graceful, flowing drape typical of mid-20th century Navajo work. It has a lighter, more wearable feel than heavier, multi-stone versions, making it an excellent everyday statement piece while still being substantial.
