This is a bold, sculptural sterling silverand Lone Mountain turquoise ring by the late Navajo (Diné) master silversmith Orville Tsinnie (1943–2017). The ring features a large, freeform (slightly teardrop or irregular oval) cabochon of turquoise as the dominant focal point. It is securely set in a heavy, hand-fabricated sterling silver bezel that follows the stone’s natural contours. The piece has substantial weight and presence, typical of Tsinnie’s preference for durable, well-balanced jewelry. These accents create a dynamic, three-dimensional contrast against the smooth, polished silver and the vibrant turquoise. The shank is solid and heavy, with smooth curves that provide comfort while maintaining a commanding look on the finger.
The stone is a high-grade natural Lone Mountain turquoise with a rich, bright blue to blue-green (robin’s-egg or sky-blue) base color. What stands out most is the intricate black spiderweb matrix — fine, dark lines that branch across the surface like a delicate web or network of veins, highly prized variety in Native American jewelry.
