Anja Wulf

Anja Wulf is an eclectic mix of tradition and ever-forward motion. Born in New York to German parents, Anja carries passports from the United States and Germany. A self-taught artist who graduated with honors from the University of Chicago, she has lived on both U.S. coasts, Belgium, the Caribbean, western Africa, and Mexico.

Anja now resides in Northern New Mexico. The timeless environment of the high desert and her love of nature provide fundamental sources of inspiration for her art—deceptively simple forms that personify her love of light and space. Anja’s compositions and palettes illuminate her evocative, poetically peaceful, and compelling style.

Working with acrylic on board or canvas, her paintings strive to present in tangible form the classic beauty of natural settings through imaginative interpretations. In many ways, her art reflects her reality—the magical, mystical experiences of life and a sense of a perpetual “homeward bound” journey—with wonder, raw energy, and joy.

Anja has co-authored two books; California Wine Country: Impressions in Oil and Exploring America’s Wine Country: Impressions In Oil. In 2019, she was selected as the top solo artist from more than 125 curated artists’ exhibitions worldwide at ArtExpo New York. She was also featured in Arts and People magazine’s April 2019 edition.
