Two New Painters Featured
at Chimayo Trading Gallery

Our spacious rooms of paintings now include the works of two very different painters, both of whom interpret the landscape of northern New Mexico in unique ways.
Brad Teare
Brad Teare is known for his luscious palette knife paintings, with vivid colors and strong compositions. His work is noticed immediately by collectors who appreciate his dynamic virtuoso technique. His latest landscape is titled “Prayers for Mora” he was painting this scene even as the fires were moving closer and closer to the dreamy little town of Mora. It must have been a bittersweet task to convey the fragile beauty of nature in that moment, preserving for posterity a point in time that will live on through his work.
Anja Wulf
Another really exciting artist, Anja Wulf has joined the gallery and brings a fresh aesthetic with her intensely textured landscapes. With the clarity of minimalism and an abstraction of detail but an almost hidden layer of complexity, it is only by standing before one of her works that you may truly understand what the artist intends for us to experience. She expertly conveys the vastness of the land and the expansive skies of northern New Mexico. Her paintings feel as wild as nature and are tempered by the artist’s sensibility for dynamic composition.
Both painters use texture and color to elicit an appreciation of time and place in innovative ways. We invite you to come into the gallery and see for yourself why we have chosen to add them to our collection of the finest painters and paintings of the Southwest.
