Pa – Fish
A water creature…most precious to my Pueblo people,
The Pa fish, turtle, and our water guide, the Avanyu teach us the respect of
honoring our water.
For we are nothing without it.
I remember the times I spent with my Dad; he would teach me to fish our
mountain streams. Learning patience…….quiet solitude.
My most memorable moments now are with my friend and husband. We head to the
mountain lake in the early morning where we stand in silence – casting our line and
reeling it in – in quiet meditation.
Sometimes never a bite.
If I am so fortunate to catch a Pa fish, my gratitude to the water creature who
gave me a meal.
Only taking one or two.
