Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Bracelet by Norbert Peshlakai, Navjo-Diné

$750.00

This is a handsome sterling silver cuff bracelet by Navajo-Diné jeweler Norbert Peshlakai, a respected fourth-generation master silversmith known for his innovative stamp work, clean modern lines, and creative incorporation of historic Native American motifs. The bracelet features a wide, smooth, polished sterling silver band with a slightly domed or rounded top edge for comfort and visual weight. The standout element is the continuous frieze of hand-stamped designs running around the center of the cuff. These are Mimbres-inspired motifs. Mimbres refers to the ancient pottery tradition (roughly 1000–1150 CE) of the Mogollon culture in the American Southwest (primarily southern New Mexico and Arizona). Mimbres are famous for their bold, stylized  animals, insects, humans, and geometric symbols. Peshlakai is renowned for cutting his own custom stamps, sometimes using dozens of tiny punches to build up a single figure with fine details. The stamping creates a matte or lightly textured contrast against the surrounding highly polished silver, giving the piece depth and a tactile, almost narrative quality as it wraps around the wrist. This bracelet is substantial yet comfortable, with a bold graphic presence that works equally well dressed up or with everyday attire. The Mimbres designs add cultural richness and historical depth, turning the cuff into a miniature “story band” inspired by ancient pottery.
