Description

Ancestral Blessings

When I was growing up – I spent time with my uncles from Laguna Pueblo. They taught me
reverence, respect to and for, my people, and an understanding of what being a Laguna person was.
I was fortunate to see the hummingbird kachina’s dance to their beautiful songs.
I became lost in the meaning of what they were there for.
I learned that these tiny creatures were rememberances of those gone before.
Every year as they migrate home, they bring with them the blessings of our ancestors.
I see two sisters, mothers, grandmothers, daughters and cousins pray to the soul of our
Mother Earth
and
every living being that walks upon her.
Now and in the afterlife.
