Lee Lujan continues the long tradition of making drums that he learned from his Pueblo family. From his studio at the base of Taos Mountain, he creates each unique drum from just the right hollowed out cottonwood trunk. He covers it with hide processed by his hand.

Time and temperature affect the voice of the drum as each one vibrates with its unique soundscape. Every drum includes a willow and soft-skin drum beater, allowing you to find your personal rhythm. Through one of Lujan’s drums, you connect with the authentic history of the people and you join hands with that of one of the most conscientious and skilled artisans of Taos Pueblo, Lee Lujan.
