The stones are vibrant robin’s egg to sky-blue, that signature pure, even turquoise hue with virtually no matrix (veining or host rock inclusions), which is the hallmark of Sleeping Beauty turquoise from the now-closed mine near Globe, Arizona. This gives the turquoise a smooth, uniform, almost gem-like clarity and brightness that pops against the oxidized sterling silver and dark leather. The silverwork is hand-stamped or textured with clean bezels securing the inlaid stones tightly, no gaps or unevenness, speaking to Begay’s skilled craftsmanship.
