Taos Pueblo opens to receive hundreds of people on Christmas Eve for one spectacular celebration. As the sun begins to glow on the horizon, the towering fires are lit creating a dramatic golden lightscape. Vespers end inside the church, and the procession emerges: a statue of the Virgin Mary being carried reverently by several men in traditional clothing.
