Jim Wagner
Jim Wagner (May 4, 1940 – May 24, 2021) was a prolific and well-known artist based in Taos, New Mexico, where he lived and worked for about 60 years. He became a legendary figure in the local arts scene, celebrated for his whimsical, folk-art-inspired style across multiple mediums. Wagner’s work overall was eclectic and unrestricted by medium—he experimented freely, blending humor, folk elements, and local Taos inspiration. He was featured as the 2013 Taos Fall Arts Festival Poster Artist, and there’s a book about his life: “Jim Wagner, Taos, An American Artist”.
