Angie Yazzie is a highly regarded master potter from Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. Born in 1965 in Taos, she has lived at the pueblo her entire life. She learned pottery from her mother Mary Archuleta from Taos Pueblo, and especially her maternal grandmother, Isabel Archuleta. Her grandparents ran a curio shop at Taos Pueblo, where she was exposed to pottery making from a young age (around 7–9 years old). She returned to it after graduation and is largely self-taught beyond family influences.
