Celebrates 20 Years in Taos

This year marks the 20th year of business for Chimayo Trading Del Norte, so we have a unique perspective when it comes to the role of trade in creating cultures, combining resources and offering a place to buy and sell.

Gabe and Alicia Abrums have spent the last two decades offering historic and modern Pueblo pottery, Navajo weavings and jewelry, Hopi kachinas and Zuni Fetishes as well as historic paintings and collectible sculptures. Through the years, they have expanded their gallery space, allowing for more diverse art.

Just as the original trading posts created opportunities for indigenous artists, Chimayo Trading Del Norte has formed bonds and associations with the individuals whose art they represent. We would like to thank the artists whose lives are dedicated to their art and continue the traditions and legacy of their families through their work.

For those of you who have become collectors over the years, for those who wouldn’t visit Taos without stopping in to say hello, and for those of you who have just found us we extend our deepest thank you! Together we look forward to another 20 years, and beyond.

Dedicated to preserving traditions, expanding awareness and offering the very best of the Southwest in our expansive gallery showrooms, we are also preserving and protecting this historic set of adobe buildings that were central to the story of this place, 300 years ago.
