In the 1950s, Gorman attended the Indian School in Fort Defiance, Arizona, receiving formal art training. He further honed his skills at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Mexico City College, expanding his artistic horizons and experimenting with various techniques. Gorman’s art style was a fusion of figurative and expressionistic elements, characterized by graceful depictions of Native American women, landscapes, and cultural motifs. His bold colors, fluid lines, and simple forms resulted in visually striking and emotionally evocative artworks.
As Gorman’s fame grew throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he became a prominent figure in the art world.
