Whether he is evoking a southwestern still life that sings with authenticity, or painting a resonant scene from our collective and Native history, Martin’s paintings make time stand still.

To stand before a major work by William Martin is to be immersed in another time and place. His dramatic compositions direct our attention and frame our individual response. He often paints Taos Pueblo, which some visitors have said that because of its extended closure, is the only way they could see it!
