Autumn Borts-Medlock (1967-present)

Autumn Borts-Medlock (aka Autumn Bortz, Autumn Boris, Autumn Cain) of the Santa Clara Pueblo Potters. Active 1938 to present creating traditional redware and blackware jars, bowls and vases. She began learning traditional pottery methods at the age of 5. Her renown family includes sister Tammy Garcia, mother Linda Cain, grandmother Mary Cain and great-grandmother Christina Naranjo. She creates in an innovative but traditional manner of deeply carved pottery. Autumn has won numerous awards for her pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market and her work is in the permanent collections of museums such as the Denver Art Museum and the Heard Museum.
